Tequila Fortaleza, founded in 2005, is a highly acclaimed brand of authentic Mexican tequila with a rich history of tequila making dating back to 1873. Don Cenobio, the great-great-grandfather of owner Guillermo Sauza, was the pioneer who exported mezcal from Mexico to the US. Fortaleza continues to uphold this legacy of tradition, taste, and quality by producing exceptional tequila in the family's century-old distillery, named La Fortaleza, meaning Fortitude. The tequila is crafted using traditional methods, such as small brick ovens to cook the agave and an ancient tahona wheel made of volcanic rock to extract the macerated fruit juices. Fortaleza Tequila is made from 100% agave, grown in Jalisco Mexico, and matured for at least 8 years before being harvested. Each varietal of Fortaleza is carefully curated and aged in American oak barrels for 7 months to 2 years before being bottled in limited quantities. Savor a taste of history with Fortaleza Tequila!
