As part of Ardbeg Day 2023, the Heavy Vapours Committee Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky was unveiled. This 100.4-proof smoke bomb has been dubbed by Ardbeg distillery as "the most full-blown Ardbeg ever," characterized by its potent earthiness, dark chocolate, and sharp peppermint notes.
In the making of this release, the purifier connected to the still was removed by the distillers to impart more smoke, resulting in a bottled, non-chill filtered whisky. The Ardbeg 2023 Heavy Vapours is a masterful experimental whisky crafted by the Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden of Ardbeg.
