Green Spot is a Non-age Statement Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, which imparts a distinct apple and orchard fruits flavor that sets it apart. It can be described as "Sweet and fresh", making it a must-have for SPS whiskey enthusiasts and those who appreciate smooth, flavorful, sweet drams. Produced by the Midleton Distillery in Co Cork, the Green Spot brand was created by Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants. The Mitchells purchased full casks of mature whiskey from the Jameson Bow street distillery, which were transported to their bonded warehouse in Fitzwilliam lane. As the whiskey reached certain ages, they would paint a colored spot on the cask to mark these milestones, with a Green Spot indicating that the whiskey had reached 10 years old. These whiskeys were so sought after and the brand so iconic that they have been recreated by Irish Distillers.
