Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Black Label Tennessee whiskey is matured for a minimum of 4 years in new charred American oak barrels, using a mash bill that consists of 80% corn, 12% barley, and 8% rye. This combination is then enhanced by limestone-filtered cave water and a sour mash from previous batches to bring out its rich notes and bold flavor. The whiskey has a finishing bottle strength of 90% proof and undergoes charcoal-mellowing through J. Daniel’s own Lincoln County Process, which is labeled under a NAS. On the nose, one can detect aromas of ripe banana and vanilla bean, along with baked corn. The palate complements the nose with bold hits of banana, corn, and barrel char, alongside hints of exotic fruit and spice.
