Long Island Spirits is the maker of Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is inspired by the First United States Volunteer Cavalry. This bourbon is created using a mash of 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley, and it is aged for at least four years in newly charred American oak casks. In addition, the bourbon is finished in merlot and chardonnay casks that were previously used for maturing wine. On the other hand, Rough Rider Rye is aged in virgin American oak, used bourbon, and single malt casks.
