Don Felipe Camarena was born into a family with a long history of distilling tequila, dating back to the early 1800s. In 1937, he established his own distillery in the Jaliscoin Mountains of Mexico, renowned for producing the finest blue agave. The distillery has remained in the family for three generations, and recently celebrated its 75th year of operation, employing many of the same traditional techniques from its founding. Tapatio Blanco is double distilled, retaining as much of its original character and flavor as possible. After distillation, it is left to settle in steel tanks for up to a month, imparting a distinct agave and grilled pepper flavor. This particular variant is 110 proof, providing an extra kick.
