Dark Rye, a limited release from Basil Hayden's, is a truly unique offering that combines classic Kentucky Rye with the award-winning Canadian Rye from Alberta Distillery. The resulting blend features rich notes of oak, spice, and dried fruit, with a viscous mouthfeel that adds even more depth to the experience. Launched in October 2017, Dark Rye has quickly become a permanent addition to the Basil Hayden's lineup. While it's technically listed as a "whiskey specialty" rather than a true rye whiskey, this blend of Kentucky straight rye, Canadian rye, and California port-style wine is bottled at 40% ABV and is available nationwide.
